Many times in my life, I was taught by parents, teachers or adults to be independent, to rely on myself and to find solutions to problems by myself, for they say that is what life is about.
I realised that is not necessarily true in life. In fact, the reverse is true. God has called me to be a sheep and to follow the Great Shepherd that leads me. Read the rest of this entry »
I thank God for today, for it was a blessed day, especially in church. During the pastoral prayer, I heard a mention of a portion of scripture and God spoke powerfully through it to me throughout the entire day. The pastor said something along the lines of “We thank you Lord for while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.
It came from Romans 5:8 – ‘But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.’
The word that I was drawn to was the word ‘yet‘. Previously, I had read the verse as ‘when we were still sinners’, Christ died for us. But today, light was shed upon the word ‘yet’ that it gave me a new perception of this particular verse. Read the rest of this entry »

Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I may have the grace
To let you be my servant, too
The words of this song came to me this morning. What a reminder this is that I should be as Christ to my brothers and sisters and everyone else around me. That is to me being a christian: servanthood like Jesus Christ who washed his disciples’ feet.
My brothers and sisters, let me be your servant, as Christ to you.
Tomorrow is ‘Back-to-school’ day. I can say that I’m really looking forward to it. It is really exciting as the Lord teaches me truths through my professors. Though I know it will be a difficult semester as I would be doing 6 modules, I know that just as my Lord has carried me through last semester, He would do the same for this semester, whatever the outcome.
Today, I had some time to listen to a sermon. I thank God that He spoke once again through the speaker on perseverance. Read the rest of this entry »
